This particular 6.8 is the keel/centerboard model, which has a fixed shoal draft keel which houses a centerboard that lowers out of the bottom of the keel. There is a bronze and stainless worm-gear winch mounted just above the galley countertop that allows the centerboard to be raised and lowered. The pictures show the centerboard in the down position.
